Hello and welcome to Grey Wolf Designs. To start, here is a little about myself. Ever since I was a child I had a love for wolves. As I grew older, that love for wolves continued to grow and I did not know why, until later. I feel they were helping guide me, showing me the path I was on was not where I needed to be. So I started to search for my own path in life. In that search, I started to carve my own walking staffs, and later, wands. Friends told me that they liked my work and I made a couple for a few of them. They encouraged me sell them which lead me here.

Grey Wolf Wands and Staffs are carved from natural reclaimed trees and branches. I never cut or harvest trees or branches to use. Nor do I use store bought wood unless at the request of the person I am making it for. A special hard to find wood would be an example of why store bought or special order wood might be used, however, I would rather not have to special order the wood, rather take it from nature whom has shed itself to grow further. The wood I prefer to use is all fallen from local woods and parks, usually maple or pine. It may have fallen naturally or had to be cut down by park personnel for one reason or another. When I feel the calling, I go to the brush piles where the park personnel place the trimmings from the trees. There is where I find what I need. Otherwise, the wood ends up being disposed in a chipper or burned in a camp fire. The wood for my Staffs and Wands are dried for a period of time ranging from weeks to several months, maybe even a year. Once I start working on them, it can take me as long as a year to finish a Staff and months for a Wand. I do not work on just one at a time. I switch between them as the mood and need changes. In my studies and being of a Celtic heritage, I have taught my self how to read and write runes while reading some of Bucklands works. I hand carve and burn all the runes myself. Some of the images I use, I first stencil them onto the wood, then carve and burn them, while some are hand drawn. The image and rune work that goes into each creation come from my heart and what feels right. Finally, I tend to leave the Wands un-coated. I have tried staining a few but do not like the feeling of covering the wood so I prefer to leave it in its natural state. The Staffs, I do coat with a thin coat of acrylic to help protect them as they are usually used outside. As for the crystals, beads and things I use, I try to use all metals, glass, stones, etc... I do not use plastic beads or objects that are not natural material. Again, I try to keep them as natural as possible. I hope this has helped to answer any questions you may have. If not, please feel free to ask me.

Wands
Grey Wolf Designs
No two wands are ever exactly alike. From the natural variations in the wood to the designs that I put into them. Each wand has a copper core to help with the natural transmission of energies usually ending in a crystal.
Grey Wolf Designs

The crystals range from clear quartz to rose quarts or other semi-precious stones, again, depending on what feels right for the wand. Sometimes I am able to inlay beads or charms of copper, glass, crystal, etc.

Staffs

Like my wands, each one of my staffs are a one of a kind,
no two are ever exactly alike. Other than a rubber or other
kind of cap on the bottom end of each staff, I try to use
only natural materials in their construction. I use the caps to
help protect the end of the staffs and to help prevent slipping.
I also will coat the staffs with acrylic or other material to
help protect them. On top of the staffs I may use a glass,
crystal or other semi-precious stone, again it depends on what
feels right
